38th Morbidity Week 2011 – Dengue
Trend: There were 23 Dengue cases reported from different Disease Reporting Units (DRUs) regionwide on the 38th morbidity week (September 18-24, 2011). This brings to 2,539 the total number of cases from January 1 to September 24, 2011. The number of cases this year is 89% lower compared to the same period last year with 24,129 cases (Fig. 1). more....

Trend: The Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) was able to monitor 38 Leptospirosis cases on the 38th Morbidity Week (September 18-24, 2011). This brings to 926 the total number of leptospirosis cases reported from January 1 to September 24, 2011. This is 940% higher compared to the same period last year with 89 cases (Fig. 1). more....

Preliminary Report on the Initial Investigation Done on Hepatitis A Suspects in Brgy. Mapatag, Hamtic, Antique
The Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of Antique informed the RESU of clustering of possible Hepatitis A cases in Brgy. Mapatag, Hamtic, Antique. The DOH – CHD sent a team to give technical support and conduct an epidemiological investigation. We coordinated with Dr. Ma. Eve Pacificador (MHO-Hamtic), Dr. Ralph Cabral (Prov’l Health Team Leader) and Hon. Leopoldo Pancho (Brgy. Captain, Mapatag).
